Good evening. Or morning, I don't judge
The good news:
After an intense global headhunting process, the rusEFI devs have found a willing test subject for the NB2 plug and play ECU setup.
The bad news:
It's me
The car:
- 2003 Miata, it gots the VVT
- Kraken low mount & 3" exhaust
- Garrett GTX2867R gen 2, 0.64 A/R
- ID1050x injectors
- LSU 4.9 wideband
- Link G4X fury ECU, with my own plug'n'play adapter. Custom yo
The plan:
- Install E-throttle
- Wire/plumb in flex fuel sensor
- Swap between ECU's, collect data and feedback where needed to support development. When development is complete, my buddy will need an ECU. The outcomes of testing will determine which one he gets to buy
The author:
- Mediocre machinist, it's a hobby thing
- Mediocre welder, you get the idea
- R&D eng day job
- Mech eng by schooling
- Former FSAE nerd
I haven't touched anything beyond 8-bit microcontrollers, please be gentle

Welcome to the forum. Which ECU are you currently running? Any dyno runs from the car? (A selfish question- I have a Kraken high mount with 2560R ready to go, once my NB1 with NB2 engine is rescued from its' current state of complete disassembly)

Just so you know im the fastest miata here and dont attempt to change that or else!
In all seriousness, sub 300whp im guessing since stock bottom end?

Re: 2003 VVT turbo miata dev mule
My stock NB1 bottom threw some rods and side-vented the block at around 14psi. at 12 psi it showed around 230hp on Virtual Dyno at 5500rpm or so. 10 psi was 205 (I think) on a Mustang. But that was in 2012 and I can't remember that far back. There seem to be a few stock bottom ends that can handle around 300hp, but you have to bring the boost in late and increase it after 5000rpm when the torque curve falls off, so you keep making more power, but keeping the torque well below 250ftlbs. I think 240ftlbs at 6700 is approx 300hp and *should* be safe-ish on a stock bottom end.

Been a while since I checked this...
Still stock bottom end, planning to build it up over winter. No dyno runs yet, only road tuning. Just running 5psi spring pressure for now, but it boost creeps to 10 near redline in 4th...need to port that out
It is on a Link G4X fury ECU right now
