Hi

Build thread for a car I am working on

Euro imported 1995 W124 E220 Cabriolet 5 Speed Manual
Originally had n/a 2.2 M111. Has been swapped to M111.975 and turbocharged (supercharger removed)

When I got it, it had Split Second AIC2 on it with 2 extra injectors, ran like garbage. Lots of other bad wiring I removed/fixed.

Stock ecu is old school Siemens and it had the biodegradable wiring harness :shock:

It now has the wiring harness from an 02 SLK230 (plugs for bosch me 2.8) I chose this harness because its wired for coil on plug. Car is getting ETB, all the factory stuff.

I am running it with an MRE, and hoping we have a plug and play break out board to make my life easy, if not ill just hard wire it to the mre pigtail.

Ill add pics and stuff here soon.

Turbo is gtx3576 replica, bosch 440cc green giants, bosch 044 pump.

Need Help with ignition coils. I am using the coil on plug setup from a M111.983

NGK 48737

Need help with dwell and other settings for them. I couldnt find any info.

Do you have or do you have access to an oscilloscope?

Annoying mercedes 1 tooth flywheel is annoying. Car is getting 36-1 trigger wheel on the front crank pulley. Will have some 3d printed bits and bobs. Still figuring out how I want to fasten the trigger to the crank pulley.

N75 Boost control solenoid installed and clicking (need to fine tune freq and stuff)
Tach output working on stock cluster (needs a high power Lowside, such as LS1 or LS2 on MRE). 2 times per cycle for W124 worked well (verified with stimulator up to 7000 rpm)
Wideband installed and connected.

Hi There!

We had great progress last night. I was able to start the car using my custom 36/1 crank trigger wheel. In my tune the fuel mass was set very low (12mg) for whatever reason. I changed it to 30, and now it starts pretty quick, but then dies. Tonight im checking the base timing, and will reach out if I still need help.

Does this make it success story? lol

Did some tune clean up and she starts and idles now!

working on tune, she drives really nice. 7 psi, will be turning it up to 10. otherwise project is almost done :)
