Germans, after having moved to the US, enjoy a bit of freedom. I say don't restrain or "guide" the timing chain and let it fly free.

Outch, THIS means work..... a lot of work. This is a part of the chain tensioner, probably the tensioning bar....

The problems with "transfer pipe" are really very very rare with the V12. With the V8, it looks quite different.

The guy is a bit crazy, okay, i bit more...

i replaced the piston ring and dissecant
in the air pump for the air suspension
and it works much better now
pumps up the air springs in 30 sec instead of 5 minutes

you can take the parking brake assembly out of the bmw 760li without taking out the rear air conditioner.

also, you do NOT have to take off the parking brake assembly from the rear wheels.(like NewTIS tells you to do)
open the parking brake actuator all the way to the "assembly mode"
take the head of the cable off the fork of the actuator
there is a spring (tab) holding the cable housing into the actuator... push the tab down with a screwdriver.
have someone yank on the parking brake cable between the rear wheels and the actuator ( remove the rear wheels to access the cable )
its pretty obvious once you get the wheel off. just grab the cable housing and yank.
the cable and housing inside will come out easily .
.
no disassembly of the rear wheel required.

just so you know

for WinKFP, NCSexpert, INPA, etc

VIN: WBAGN83525DKxxxxx

==========
INPA: UIF (User Information Field) Report
1-Open INPA>
select your car model (E65)>
Functional Jobs>
HIT -->F3 UIF
2-You'll see a list of all control units with their ZUSB number and VIN

4-Identify the ZUSB numbers without your VIN and copy them on paper -- like " SZL --ZUSB--> 1234567"
and close INPA
==========

WinKFP:

IMPORTANT!!
in configuration box... check ONLY the--- programming voltage,--- Test Checksum,--- UIF write in comfort mode. (bimmerlabs says also "UIF write after data" )
PABD format is IPO ... API is -- i use 0 (bimmerlabs says 1) ... IFH is same
you need to turn OFF "activate Bootsectorupdate " each time you boot up the winKFP.
could test "fast baudrate" and see if that works okay.

also, some modules need to have the ignition turned ON, car not running ( ALS, EDC, etc)
some modules can work with just the key stuck in the ignition .

Edit VIN and Flash Module ( make sure the config boxes for "UIF write in comfort" are checked . otherwise your VIN button will not appear. )
5-Open WinKFP (Load SPDaten files in Coding Tool before)
6-Select comfort mode
7-Then click F1 identify ECU /find ZUSB
8-write the ZUSB number you copied
9-this will go straight to the correct ZUSB- click OK
10-Then enter your full VIN on VIN tab, just the straight VIN without a checksum at end.
VIN: WBAGN83525Dxxxxx
click on TAB --> DONE
11-Double check that the module your going to flash it's safe to flash with your cable and the battery needs to be connect to another power source
12-Click on PROGRAM tab/ update ZUSB (this will flash the module with SPDaten files and re-write the VIN)

13- Open NCExpert

15-Press F5 for basic functions -> Select "coapiReadSgGetFswPsw" and click Ok -> Select F2 "job" select SG_CODIEREN and press ok -> Press F3 Execute job and wait for the buttons to become active, when active it's all done.

NOTES
you can do coding with the key in... do not need to turn on car.
put on a charger, to be safe .

turn off all virus protection, firewall, etc on windows 10 .

often this doesn't matter, but in some cases (such as flashing an RSA delete) the 'bootsector update' checkbox will cause your DME to brick. The annoying part is you have to 'uncheck' that box every time you open WinKFP - fortunately you can force it off. Open:
C:\EC-APPS\NFS\CFGDAT\COAPI.INI
and add this line to the end of the file:
BsuActive=OFF
-----------------

"I just want to note that UIF CAS comes out with VIN "0000000" and without any problems is working. "

i reprogrammed ALL the modules on PT can bus , including the DME and EGS with the winKFP settings as above. even "bricked" modules.
--------
disconnect the battery overnight to allow "bricked" modules that say "programming abort" to reset, then code them with WinKFP.
=========
"Get the bimmergeeks pro cable -
------
useful notes --
https://bimmerlabs.com/help#supported
----------

\If the devise is responding, it's booting and is probably just in recovery mode. Needs a valid program and calibration file to operate.

If the UIF and calibration dataset information is corrupt Windkp and NFS will not be able to identify the module. Windkp in expert mode is the tool left to flash using standard protocols. Expert mode allows flashing without module verification.
You must manually select
ecu address, ipo, prg, 0pa and 0da files.

Flash the correct program and then the calibration file.

WARNING!
Fix this on your E65 E66 NOW. Before your dashboard turns into a christmas tree!

The PT- CAN bus is a ribbon cable that runs from passenger footwell to the Emergency brake in the trunk.
there are TWO places that are splices.
1-- under the left rear (drivers side) seat
2-- under the front passenger feet carpet, just in front of the pass seat bolts
These splices are NOT WATERPROOF,
and any spilled drinks or rain in the back seat will puddle on this connector and SHORT OUT THE PT- CAN BUS !!
so NO communication can happen from engine, transmission, dash, brakes, etc
which makes it look like the car just go NUKED

FIX--
pull up rear seat cushion on the left side.
look for a ribbon cable in the bottom of the lake
find the black connector,
cut it out
wire the cable back together, with a 120 OHM resistor between the RED and RED /BLUE wires
POT the connection to make it waterproof ( GLUE, Epoxy, Silicone, whatever you like )
put back into a spot under the seat that is not at the BOTTOM OF THE LAKE

the connector under the foot carpet is less likely to get trashed, but still, its a non-waterproof connection right under a window .
That foot carpet connector does NOT need a resistor when you fix it. just cut out the old connector, solder wires, then POT the wires to make waterproof.

i see 7 series E65 E66 in the junkyard all the time, with no rust and good interiors... and wonder how many ended up in LKQ due to Electrical problems like THIS.
And NO independent repair shops here will touch these cars.. No Surprise...

Fuck You, BMW

First off, you did NOT need to splice under the rear seat-- run the wire all the way to emergency brake, then put the 120 OHM resistor INSIDE the Emer Brake Setup. BAD DESIGN, SHITTY EXECUTION
On the pass carpet splice, -- that splice is necessary , but make it friggin WATERPROOF.

Rear Sunroof drain on E66
the rear drains are located at the end of the unibody beam,
in front of the rear wheel,
facing inwards
peel back the plastic wheel liner, and you can reach in and mess with it on the drivers side, passengers side has pipes around, but still can reach in and pull out the plastic plug, and clean the plug
and compressed-air blowout the pipe.

my finger is inside the hole in picture
