Hi its me again. Doing more rusefi stuff on another W124. This time a wagon.

Its getting a 5 speed swap and with that the new flywheel is 60/2, so why not install a proteus and have a party?

Engine is staying stock for now, using oem sensors (ill add part #s later). But heres the specs:

1994 E320 Wagon
3.2 M104 (DOHC inline 6, VVT intake cam)
5 Speed Manual 717.412 with single mass flywheel

Proteus using stock wasted coils (has 3 piggies), injectors, iat, map, with AEM wideband

Throttle body is going to be interesting. The cable goes to it, but if I researched correctly, it only triggers the PPS that is inside the throttle. The actual throttle movement is electrically controlled.

How K R E A T I V do you want to get? Swapping your TB to a 96+ TB which is fully DBW would only require the TB swap and adding in the pedal position sensor from a W202 or W210.

Im using a pedal position sensor from a W163 ML320. Its nice because it mounts in the engine bay and the stock throttle cable will connect to it (with a different end added). Minimal fabrication and no physical pedal change needed.

As far as throttle im looking at a 96+ like you states or a bosch motorsports one. Fun fact the GM v6 etb bolt pattern shares 2 bolt holes with the M104, 2 are misaligned. I could make an adapter...

I'm seeing conflicting information about TB bore size, and I can't seem to find my micrometer, but hasty tape measuring showed a 01 M113 4.3 TB bore to be about the same size as a 94 E320, somewhere in the ballpark of 70-75 mm. You'd either need a spacer plate or some modding to get clearance, but other than that, it looks like it might fit.

Got rid of the dummy stock coils and went VAG coil on plug. Initial will be individually wired wasted, then sequential later.

First Start attempt on the proteus worked! Still waiting on wideband controller, and probably has some vacuum leaks, but it runs and idles :D

Ill take a video once the wideband controller comes in and such. but good things! Tune and log are on REO
