long time reader first time poster
my son has ssangyong musso with mercedes m111.970 engine, the ecu in this car has been nothing but a pain now the standard ecu is cooked. this ecu is so hard to find and to be honest i’m done with it!
so question, the mre or the proteus? are these ecu’s capable to run the engine with standard sensors? iat, maf, cam position, etc. I would like to run the hellen 128 but in australia it’s hard to find the loom needed to connect to the hellen.
I have an aem wide band, with digital and analogue outputs.
the long term goal is to run the engine i built for my son, it’s m111.955 with the m44 supercharger bored to a 2.3 with stroker crank and a few other goodies. but not until he’s off his probationary licence.
any info would be great as i’d like to order the ecu asap.

Standalone is a questionable tool for just car repair. Maybe once/if we have complete harness package it would make a bit more sense but with all the effort to make custom wiring? And wideband? And tuning?

Ok things are moving along nicely i have received my mre and mostly wired up etc all working and most sensors connected,
1st question with the m111 any recommendation for smart coils?
and with a map sensor do i still need to run a maf sensor is there any benifit of running both?
this mre is a sexy piece of equipment!!

...if you MAP and IAT. Some MAFs have integrated IAT.
