I am sure we can get this done.

Check the Where to start & how to get involved? and poke your brother to start looking at the source code :)

What is your plan on the hardware? The discovery board is only the brain of the system, it would also need input and output circuits.

Some people here are soldering there own schematics and my own approach is ordering these 'module' boards we have designed here - more on this

Obviously the inputs come first, so you would need to either solder your position sensor input circuit or order one of the two 'adc amp' options (the smaller one has minor issues, the larger one is supposed to be better but this one has not yet been tested by anyone)

In general we look at discovery reference. For rusEfi purposes we look at https://svn.code.sf.net/p/rusefi/code/trunk/firmware/config/boards/arro_board.h
