Honda D16A8 uaEFI

Post by motomarzel »

Hello, my name is Vasil.

I have ordered uaEFI board last week. My idea is to replace the stock OBD0 ECU on my Honda EJ1 with D16A8 engine.
The replacement will go on a couple of stages.

I plan to use as much as possible the original harness, therefore I have ordered OBD0 to OBD1 conversion harness, from which I will only use the OBD0 female connector and connect the cables directly to uaEFI PCB.

The case for the ECU will be 3D printed - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4921568

WBO 4.9 is on the way as well.
I will use old tablet with REALDASH - JDY-33 ordered.

Ones everything is installed - at that point the stock ECU and the rusEFI are still interchangeable, I will do the initial mapping.

When I got to the point where the engine works relatively well with rusEFI, we go to the next step - I will convert the ignition to COP. ISL9V3040S3ST ignitors are on the way.

I am also considering ETB conversion.

LPG system would also be installed - the LPG ECU is supporting separate fuel MAP.

Considering all that, I have some questions arising:
1. Is the stock MAP sensor good enough, or should I replace it with MPX4250AP?
2. Should I calibrate all the temperature sensors? Is there a procedure for that?
3. Which COP will fit my head?
4. Which car ETB would fit? Fiat Bravo HGT? Alfa 166 V6? Any Idea?
5. Would I need extra sensors, beside WBO.
6. The stock injectors are low impedance, as much as I understood the rusEFI requires high impedance (I may have resistor box on the car, but I will find out later on), what is the rusEFI impedance requirement? Can I adjust it with resistors or should I replace the injectors?
7. More to come in the process..

Thank you!

I would use stock MAP sensor

Generic honda CLT/IAT from the internet would be enough no need to calibrate for your specific sensors.

As much as I understood, for my engine, I have 3 trigger signals coming out of the distributor - one with one tooth, synchronized with TDC of 1-st cylinder, another with 4 teeth synced to each cylinder and then third with 16 teeth, how do I connect that (use that) with rusEFI?

Has your board arrived yet?

As of yesterday there is an "Honda OBD1" preset in the firmware it would at least set trigger configuration.
