Quick intro...

Post by skeeters_keeper »

Howdy fellow DIYers!

You Festiva folks probably know me from FF.com... I've been tinkering with festivas since I was 15, I think I've had 12 of them now but currently only have three. One of them has a 1.6 SOHC from a 93 mazda 323 and the other is a project car, getting a BP (1.8 DOHC). Most days I ride a 250 Ninja, and on the weekends and nicer days I ride a 750 Moto Guzzi Breva.

I have limited micro controller knowledge (mostly Arduino) and limited C programing skills, but I'm pretty good with a wrench and a soldering iron! Currently I'm employed as a machinist and I'm going to school for my MAE, so life is pretty busy, but there's always room for another project! Besides work, school, and festivas I spend a lot of time building/flying high power rockets.

Yesterday my STM32F4 board showed up - I'm still waiting on some diodes, op amps, etc. which will hopefully be here by then end of this week or the beginning of next and then I'll start by building the Hall input board and getting things setup in Tuner Studio. After I'm comfortable with monitoring several inputs we'll see how controlling a few outputs goes! I'm very happy to see this project taking off - I've often wanted a standalone/DIY system!

Welcome Nate!

There is some info on how to compile everything at http://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9 - it's time to replace the stock discovery LED blinking firmware with... our ecu LED blinking firmware :)

He was asking if I'd made any progress on my Hall board yet - the answer is, no - still waiting on a few components, and time!

I did have a chance to make sure the ECU connectors I bought worked with the festiva plugs - indeed, they work quite nicely!
