[help needed] Volvo 940 B230FK

I just started researching the possibility to use rusEFI in my Volvo 940 with a B230FK engine, but I got a bit overwhelmed of all the possibilities and options that are available. Can someone point me in the right direction on where to start and what software and hardware that is best suited for my engine? I want to have a completely standalone wiring harness for the engine and ECU and not use any of the original wiring in the car.
