Would like to help

Post by oman »

Hi there. I'm interested in helping on this project.

I've been reverse engineering OEM engine management computers for over 10 years and I have experience with several microcontrollers.
I'm also currently working with the STM discovery boards on various other projects.

I can donate time, code, expertise, and offer dyno access if/when that becomes a necessity.

I look forward to working on this!

Welcome @

Dyno time... Why would you tease? :)

Where are you located? It would be amazing if you could join - especially if you've got time and desire :)

How do you want to do this? One route would be to build or order the board and make it run an engine. Another route would be to read and criticize the code. Another route would be to simply bench test it... You tell :)

Unfortunately the dyno is pretty far from Chicago. We can talk about that in private messages :)

I'm currently working out of Albuquerque, NM.

I'd like to build a board and see if I can get it to run my Subaru. Are there any boards already printed up that I can just buy? If all the parts are available from Digikey I can order them and be up and running quickly.

Bare boards are in stock but assembled boards I would need to order a batch.

Everything but 2 items is digikey, 1 item is mouser and 1 item is eBay - the BOM is available @ http://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=359

Received the boards today (thank you!) and most of the parts from digikey and mouser.

I have the CAN and VR sections soldered up but it's slow going by hand. Is the ebay part you speak of the dc - dc voltage converter?

I was referring to http://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=215&p=6232#p4896 SD card socket, but yes DC-DC also comes from eBay

And the moused module would be the high-side mosfet, last time I've checked it was not available @ digikey - see http://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=450&p=6092#p6092

Not sure if the 25x2 headers are on the BOM
