By far the best open source EFI project

Post by mpeski »

Hi guys!

I just bumped into this site after spending some time searching for good open source EFI development platforms. To be honest, I'm very impressed. All the documentation and instructions are perfect! I haven't looked deeper into code yet, but at first glance it looks very promising.

I'm working as a ECU development and engine control algorithm engineer, and I'm also spending quite a lot of my spare time with motorcycle racing.

I'm more than happy to help with this project!

Welcome on board!

You do realize that 24 hours ago we only had one engine running rusEfi? :) So, all this is still pretty raw and naive.

http://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Development:Source_code_intro is a good starting point if you want to dive into the source code.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/312898525/rusefi-gpl-automotive-engine-control-unit-ecu-firm is my failing kickstarter project if you want to share your excitement on your bike forum :)

Tell me how much spare time you have and we can get you busy for the next 36 months :)

Yes I do, and that was exactly what I was looking for :) All we need is a stable scheduler (engine angle synchronous + 10/20/100ms etc time synchronous), good interface to PC (parameter handling + measuring points) and the rest will come by itself ;)

Oh, and did I forget that all above includes a lot of work :D

How comfortable are you with C or C++? Would you like to read the source code & help with making it cleaner?

Mainly C, still, most of the stuff out there aren't using C++. I will definitely look into code deeper and try to learn how it's done.

Without any promises :D
