My long term project (and first car) is a 1990 Isuzu Trooper. Originally came with a GM 2.8L V6, which I swapped for a 3.4L V6. I have run four different fuel injection setups on it, currently I have the MPFI manifolds from a '91 Camaro running on a Delco 1227727 ECU (batch-fire speed-density).

I have also used MegaSquirt on this engine with a TBI manifold, but burned up my injectors and the MS board because of a misconfiguration and lack of protection. The MS was configured for high impedance injectors, but I had low impedance. The factory harness had no fuse protection. An injector and/or injector driver seized after about 50 miles of driving, over-currented though the MS board and lit it on fire.

I learned my lesson. I have built a new harness from scratch with an auxiliary fuse block much better current protection, and I'm more careful with my research and configuration.

I was recruited to test the rusEFI system, I'm interested to see what's been developed.
