Hello

Post by mattf »

Hi!
I've been interested in DIY EFI for a long time, but just recently decided to jump in. I have spent a lot of time back in the day reading about megasquirt, and more recently about FreeEMS, LibreEMS, SpeeDuino, and rusEFI. I actually bought and built a FreeEMS jaguar board, however after building it I managed to destroy the uC during testing and was surprised to discover a replacement micro was over $30!! I ended up deciding to try rusEFI because I like the idea of leveraging the new 32bit cortex M micros along a programming framework/HAL. The low entry price was also enticing especially since I already had a discovery board sitting around unused.

I do embedded hardware/firmware for my day job, and play around with cars/motorcycles/etc as a hobby. I have done a carb to EFI engine swap before, however this will be my first EFI conversion.

Here is the candidate, my 1970 datsun 521, with stock L16 and 4spd manual. Currently it is stock carb and points based ignition. I'm starting with a TBI conversion for simplicity.

I have a few questions, but I'll start a project thread and ask them there.

Thanks for sharing your hard work on this project.

Looks like an interesting project. I tend to toss out a note about the wiki on an introduction, so here I go http://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Manual:Start-a-project/en

Welcome along and feel free to ask questions.
