Skoda 1.3mpi trigger

Post by Adrian_b »

Hello to all. I'm newbie and I have one question. I'm planning to use frankenstein board to controll skoda 1.3mpi engine because original ecu siemens simos 2p is not good for tuning. So my question is about trigger which this engine have on flywheel and is sensing by hall sensor. Trigger looks like picture in attachment (two long teeth and one small). So is possible to configure this type of trigger to rusefi or I must go to another type of trigger wheel? Thanks for repply, sorry for my english :)

Welcome!

I wish we had a picture this nice for all trigger wheels :)

I can add a new trigger pattern by the time your board is wired. Looks pretty easy, this case you would not need to change your hardware setup.

PS: whay year/model is this installed into? Just curious.

Hello, great answer thank you. Because I want to make full plug and play rusefi solution with original engine wiring and hardware. So I'm waiting for frankenstein board and when it arrive I will post here updates :)

Technically it would not be full P&P since you would probably need a wideband oxygen sensor to tune fuel injection, unless your plan is to use something esle?

How does this unknown vehicle/unspecified year measures air?

Currently I have slc with bosch lsu wideband controller from 14point7. So there is not problem. Last I make tune this engine with carburetors... But now is time for injection.
Curently i have some experience with siemns simos ecu tuning, but for me is not possible to change all maps what i need.

Air measure is providen by map sensor in intake manifold.
Another info about engine:
Hall sensor for crank
Map sensor for air
Wire throttle body with position pot, idle switch, idle step motor
Knock sensor ( i will not use it with rusefi)
Narrow lambda (not use with rusefi)
Ignition module wasted spark, direct fitted on spark plugs ( i think this module is driven by two 5v pulses for 1-4 and 2-3.
Iat, coolant temp sensor for sure

Welcome to the forum. Have you found the wiki? If not here's a link. http://rusefi.com/wiki/index.php?title=Manual:Hardware#Frankenstein

Do you know your connector? If you have a connector or dimensions, I could draw up a PCB breakout similar to this. http://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=507

It is really handy to solder to a break out board. Soldering wires directly to the connector is less easy.

Carburetors and OEM harness? Are you using OEM for many sensors and such, then adding wires for injectors, WO2 and items that are not in the OEM harness? Does your OEM harness have the injectors?

For understand
My firts use with this engine was carbuteror setting. (Skoda made this engine firstly with carburetor until I think 1994 year. After it was made one point injection as bosch SPI. Next was used a system from siemens called MPI ( multipoint injection). But engine hardware is still same. Except intake manifold ( carb, spi, mpi...) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Škoda_Felicia

So, when I was used carburetors, I needed wbo2 sensor for measure afr.

After, i go to conversion with MPI injection ( intake manifold with throttle body, injectors and all of sensors for simos MPI setup), but i have some modifications of engine and tuning siemens ecu is worn time...

I will use original siemens simos box where frankenstein board fits good. Then I make wire connections from board to connector
