1995 MX5 (Miata) VVT. turbo. rusefi VVT controller...

Post by mazdee »

Hi all.

I currently run a '95 mx5 turbo with a 2003vvt engine.

it's on Speeduino at the mo and runs well...but I wanted to try rusefi so I'm starting off planning to use it as a VVT controller.

here is my bench test.

- cheap "DIY more" stm 32f407
- Arduino mega running Ardustim (pattern generator for various decoders)
- an opto board for level shifting.

I added a pattern in ardustim 5degress advanced and tested switching between the 2. looks good

Sweeping RPM test. offset fixed for 0 degrees

triggers look good

next is to connect some real sensors to the car and see what comes out

Today, I am trying to sort an exhaust leak and fitting some mk2.5 vvt crank/ cam sensors ready to connect to rusEFI (i currently use a mk1 cas )

Image

I am running a mk1 cas with 24/1 yoshifab wheel, toyota yaris cops, a turbo off a volvo S60, and a mk2.5 vvt engine.

this is engine #3 . i have snapped rods in the 1st and bent rods in the 2nd. oops :D

What could possibly go wrong :?:

We are here to help once you need help. 24/1 and NB2 VVT should be possible to configure with current flexibiliy.

tested vvt triggers today.

is it normal for the VVT angle to be unsettled slightly when blipping the throttle?

Speedy doesn't do closed loop VVT yet and something like Vvtuner from diyautotune is £200 ... :o

Few degrees here and there on throttle is what I have, I assume does not matter.
