52 pin connector for Galant VR4 pnp

Post by gptech2444 »

Hi,

Just picked up another car and I would like to do a pnp.

1992 Galant VR4

This is the connector 52pin ND
Image

Picture from diyautotune.

Does anyone know of anyone else that does a pcb to wire up one of these connectors?

24 pin plug www.te.com/usa-en/product-172317-7.html
18 pin housing 172316-7
10 pin housing 172315-7
contacts 170353-1
This series is called "pulse lock"
The housing you have is http://www.te.com/usa-en/product-172319-1.html
Now you need to interest someone to design the PCB :)

It will be a bit of time before I could do this. I'm trying to focus on the Common Rail Diesel board. I wonder if I might be able to encourage @ to give this a go. The below link is the last one I did, it's a fairly good reference.

I might need an occasional poke as a reminder to keep this on the radar.

The prices just for the connectors are quite high.

I might just get the connector from DIYautotune when I'm ready to do it.

Once @ gets to merge, this should be available for review.

That's some sweet progress :)

Some files are now available at https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/tree/master/hardware/172319-1_52pin-connector but at the moment KiCAD application and knowledge are required. Let's produce PCB pdf files to enable simpller paper printing test?

We now have https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/blob/master/hardware/172319-1_52pin-connector/172319-1_connector_LAYOUT.pdf

Next step is printing this at 100% scale and checking if that looks right against a real physical connector. I might have one at home by the way but I am couple weeks away from home.

Also are there silk screen suggestions? Right now there basically isn't anything more than a revision number.
