Are there still any unused pins on the main CPU or are they all used?

If there are unused pins can you route them to a header to be exposed as spares?

The SWD header are made to fit the Mini ST-Link clones.

There are 19 unused pins left.

This is drawn to be a final proto/release, but I think I can route most of them out to big Vias like in the one you have.

The board are now completly re-routed considering best possible EMI-Design.

Would it be better with 100K and 150K for example?
Check DS, there is some limitation from ADC side. Source of ADC signal should not have to big output resistance.
The datasheet says 50K, but also have a equation I did not understand.

So the best would be to use the highest possible resistance?

This is the test mule I abuse:

Originally a 2003 B6 1.9 Tdi Fwd

Completly converted it to 2007 1.8T Quattro, S-Line some years ago.

What was the logic behind the whole conversion? Seems like a HUGE effort - was not easier to just keep the black donor car? :)

It was much more work than expected, but did not find out before it was too late.

The whole rear part was different, I thought it was only part of the outer rear fender.

This was done some years ago, when the B7 still was quite expensive.

You probably wouldn't want to try register the donor car :-)

Kb1gtt is away from the computer right now. Please leave a message at the beep.

While I only have a cell phone for the next week, I got to see the red board. I'll try to post better in a week.

Well, turns out the 20mA ignition drivers in the TLE8888 cant drive the VAG-Coils.

It just shuts down.

Any suggestions for Ignition-Drivers?

They also trigger when going high, not low.

are you looking for external for a mock up or internal for next PCB revision? what about same as on Frankenso? Can you piggyback Frankenso as a temporary solution?

I am looking for a internal solution for next revision.
I would prefer one IC, but TC4427 might be the best solution?

Will try to wire up something temporary :-)

I usually use these small proto-boards for such.

I just glue it to the red board, to do some hacks :-)

If you get it to work with the 4427 take some measurements and let us know amps and volts. It would be difficult to make a suggestion when I do not know the load. Also if you post the amps I can check for thermal issues.

The coils are TTL, with 390 Ohms.
I found others use them with the 4427.

If 12V is ok for coil drivers, you can use OUT21..24 PP outputs of 8888.

Just made a addon-board for the coils.

The coils fire fine at bench, so ready for a new vehicle-test.

The design looks so good, I think maybe I'll keep it like this in the next revision :-)

These are the ones I use.

They are wery handy, as all components like resistors, caps sot-23 etc fit fine.

https://no.mouser.com/datasheet/2/58/BPS-DAT-(SMTpads)-Datasheet-766091.pdf

Engine starts fine now, but revs full because of throttle.

It seems my TPS signal get inverted somehow.
So when I calibrate, it gets opposite.
Same at bench, with 5V it says 0 and GND 100%

The case is I need to stop it right away till I figure out the throttle :-)

Turns out the signal should be inverted, but does this conflict with code?

When I changed to the other TPS channel, things got much better.
There was one inverted.

Here's your evidence:

i would expect inverted TPS to work same as not inverted, just inverted calibration?

It did not work any way. I calibrated the other way, so it showed right.

But it always "climbed" towards 100% when holding pedal in any position.

I am sorry, but you are not good at transferring ideas in written form. You did not specify the subject of "not working", you did not specify your criteria of working/not working.

I am not enjoying this guessing game. I am investing my time in answering questions, please invest time into reading some links at https://rusefi.com/s/questions

I know this is a bit harsh, but I value my time and we need to compromise to be more efficient.

Ola, can you please help me wire TPS analog signal into one of the red boards? Is there a 3.3 v test point for me to use as TPS sensor power? Can you draw on a picture of the board showing signal input and which pads to jump to simply feed 3 volts TPS directly into stm32?

I know, but this is not an issue, as I just had the wrong channel selected.

When calibrating TPS with wrong channel, I had like around 1000 closed and 100 fully open.

Then it showed right at the TPS gauge.

When pressing the pedal fully down(or fully closed), it seemed right at TPS gauge.

But by pressing the pedal to anything between, and holding it still, the TPS gauge always started moving slowly towards 100%.

For 3.3V output, just put a wire to first pin at swd.

Pads are at the back CU, see attachment. Just solder wires to the pads Anout1, anout2, anout5 and anout12.
