This chip would be good for lights, perhaps a fan, or other such items which are switched on and off at relatively slow frequencies. Rapidly switched inductive devices like injectors would not work well with this kind of driver chip.

It's quite weak with the 2.5A max drive. That might not even be enough for your dome light. It would likely be good for small lights like dash lights. Or if you have LED lights you might get dome or brake lights. However I recall incandescent brake lights are around 24W, so about 2A. That's already pushing the limits of this chip. Unless you have space concerns, I would suggest a relay bank or relay box. They are fairly low cost.
