I had a go at a 3D printed case in fusion 360. Obviously not waterproof but I figured it would be better to include ventilation as I assume it will run warm.

I will share the model files and stl when i get a chance.

Any ECU could be any color as long as that color is orange.

I would love to post this on Facebook once you have the files published! I can pull request these files into the official github repository if you attach to the forum or just PR directly?

Probably doesn't run warm enough to need the vents - I'd be more concerned about gunk getting in than heat getting out! A spray conformal coat might be a good idea on the pcb if it's exposed like that.

I have created an unvented version and sent all the files to Andrey to drop into github.

I have kept the LED holes with thought of adding printed light pipes.

Just an FYI, the attached STL files have now been tested and confirmed to work and fit.

To keep things short life has gotten in the way of me working on this and my cars right now. I have set things back up so I can get back to working on some stuff but with my vehicles over 3 hours away any Proteus work is going to take a back seat. In the meantime welcome to the forum and group

There are quite a few people who have easily and successfully made arduino based transmission controllers. I can talk with my mate about potentially making a kit configurable to a number of transmissions

Not yet present. We're working on getting the building blocks in place in a well thought out (read: flexible) and well integrated way, but nobody has yet actually controlled a transmission with it

Vehicle 1 (the V8) has a manual transmission and the auto (4l80e) is built and ready to swap in. It is currently equipped with another DIY ECU and is 36-1 crank, sequential injection, and individual coils. I would anticipate getting the engine up and running before making the trans. swap, so if functionality is on the way with the existing hardware, that should be workable.

Vehicle 2 is an I4 with an A340 trans. which has throttle-cable pressure regulation, so it's even simpler than the 4l80e which needs PWM control of the EPC solenoid. Not sure about the gauge situation on this one and may need to retain the OEM ECU in a piggyback fashion.

Certainly! I was uncertain whether Proteus with Transmission Control is better for Proteus thread or if Transmission Control on Proteus should be in a Transmission Control thread.

Is there an existing thread that this should join or should a new one be started?

When you say partially assembled, what's left to assemble when you receive the boards from China?

I'm interested in this board for a Gen3 Hemi and perhaps a HellCat engine using one DBW for the main TB and the second DBW to control the boost valve. The Hellcat also uses multiple MAP sensors.

I test all my builds on my own engine dyno and I'm also an embedded software developer, so I could modify the firmware to work with the HellCat engines.

That should be supported fully by the current firmware. The non-China parts are the injector drivers, connectors, 5v sensor supply regulators, and that's about it.

I got both boards a few days ago, thanks!

I attempted to use an older version of the console i had on my laptop to communicate, I had previously ( months ago ) been using it to play around with an STM32F767 dev board.

No luck, I figured i just needed to get the correct "bundle" . However, at some point, playing around with them, one board quit blinking the blue LED and lost the amber LED. Just the green power LED would light.

So tonight i had some time, i found the correct bundle (I think) :

opened that up and was able to get the console to communicate with the working board, so i pointed tuner studio to the included ".ini" file and was able to get TS to communicate, though it does report a signature missmatch, seems to work ok as far as i can tell.

The other board though is just not recognized. I can use the console in DFU mode to update the firmware, and that seems to work fine. But still nothing but a green LED and no "STMicroelectronics Virtual COM Port"
in my device manager.

so I am guessing, somehow i erased the virtual com port on that board? wondering what i need to do to get it back on there?

Ah - you need the f4 bundle. It's recommended to use one of our "stable" releases from this page:

Yep, that did it. I guess I didn’t read up enough, I thought the proteus was still using the F7 chip. Why the change?, or has it always used the F429 and I just confused myself playing around with the F767....

Looking at the specs the F429 looks like a beast with plenty of memory to spare.

Both boards testing fine now with the console and TS.

One other quick question, those 3D printed cases, and chance I could buy one or 2 from someone? I don’t own a 3d printer and don’t have access to one.

The F429 and F767 in LQFP144 are actually 100% pin compatible, so you could desolder the F429 and swap with an F767 and it'd work if you really wanted to

The switch to F429 was because some actual analysis of the performance gain of the F7 over the F4 determined that it wasn't actually getting us very much gain, and the F4 was plenty.
