hi
I have a turbo from VW Audi i think from engine EA888
It would be nice to RusEFI have options to control turbo wastegate
as I understand it is a magnetic sensor
which works in this system as. 0 1. Open close ( but I need check for 100%)
Pinout 5 wire... 2 wire DC motor ...3wire sensor gnd 5v signal out(analog/PWM) ...

Do you have the relevant part of the factory wiring diagram? That should hint at how to drive it.

here is the location of the magnet ...
magnet moves linearly up down same as shaft ...
All this (magnet and hall sensor ) work like a simple potentiometer ...

Oh - it just works like an electronic throttle body then. It's worth trying to wire it like an ETB and see what happens!

Congratulations the current is pretty descend. Just a question is there a spring or something that keeps gate closed? in future when you have pressure from exhaust and you want it closed....

The motor keeps it closed. Remember that a motor just converts electric current to mechanical torque, add an arm, and that's just current -> linear force.

The "ETB-style Wategate Actuator" is greyed out in TS regardless of Boost Control and ETB settings.
Any ideas how to get it set up and activated?

Running the lastest Proteus F4 release.

Well done,

In the past I've used a Pololu motor driver to run a DWB throttle body on my project car, worked pretty well(talking about back in 2008) when almost none of the affordable stand-alone ECU's could drive the DBW TB.
I also did some testing with wastegate control(simple control but also VNT control in a petrol turbo(like Porsche uses) but never got round of using it.. Getting the wastegate to be driven is the 'easy' part.. the harder part will be setting up the mapping of it

Would it make sense to make the "ETB-style Wastegate Actuator" available without having to access the "Electronic Throttle Body" menu for enabling though?

I was doing some testing in a etb Mercedes bypass valve with and I noticed a strange behavior, my APS is hall and spring loaded so when in bench I let the the sensor go from 100 to 0 quickly the bypass would freak out then I noticed if I press the sensor backwards it gives me negative values lower than the end stop I'm guessing because it's hall and also the bypass goes crazy.
I think pid is calculating negative input values. Shouldn't it be if <0 =0 ?
