Honda OBD1

My name is Andrey and today I've learned that Honda OBD1 ECU is the king of three generations with adapters to run both older OBD0 and OBD2 vehicles on those magic P28-based ECUs.
Jesse has an OBD2 vehicle so it sounds like we are developing an OBD1 Proteus harness/smart breakout and testing it on an OBD2 vehicle? How perfect is that plan?
Honda is so special that at least TDC channel would have to be handled by https://github.com/mck1117/vr-interface
