I Need your gerbers, your boots and your motorcycle.

Gerbers committed. However the boots and motorcycle are harder to come by. Tires are flat on the motorcycle, and I only have the one pair of boots. How would I get around in this ice :)

Please elaborate. Carburetor or FI?

Motocycle is a 1972, perhaps 1973 Jawa Californian. It's kind of messed up, shifter is upside down (performance) It's 2 cycle, 1 cylinder, duel exhaust, 250cc with a 40 lbs fly wheel. Wheels are rusted so bad that the tubeless tires do not hold air any more. It's Carburetor and want's to be EFI some day. I pretend it looks like the below. I also have a crate of parts which could be used to add a side car some day.

The tyres should be fitted with inner tubes.

Next time I order anything from digikey I should get a couple of stm32f479vg just as a proof of concept. Twice the ram in the same 100 pin package!

I am getting closer to ordering the first batch of assembled boards, and there is an important question: what color?

Options are
1) Blue
2) White
3) Black
4) Yellow

I do not want to use Red since that's Frankenso color
I do not want to use Green since that's discovery color.

Opinions? Ideas?

For this particular low cost MFG, it's black silk on white mask. All other colors are white silk.

I guess I would vote for blue with white silk.

Wing-it works!!!

Needs 1/4" more width so that holes are hanging over the edge of discovery so that we have flexibility to mount the 90 degree pins up or down.

Hmmm, was the goal to make it match the location of our own board? I was expecting you would mount the 90 degree connector pointing up not down. Can you not mount the connector pointing up instead of down? Perhaps you need to remove the black plastic off the connector after it is installed on the OSHPark board.

Dimensions measured off the ST's Gerber's below.

See this post for how I was thinking it would be assembled, before putting it on the Discovery board.

I've confused the MFG shop so 0.3 is green, not white as I wanted. But even with buttons related the board still works, and the MFG shop made the slots right.

@ Inc at work!

Just soldered a couple of green 0.3 boards with STM32F469VI http://www.st.com/en/microcontrollers/stm32f469vi.html instead of STM32F407VG http://www.st.com/en/microcontrollers/stm32f407vg.html

ST-Link does not see the chip unfortunately. I wonder if I was wrong to hope that STM32F469VI would be completely pin compatible with STM32F407VG?

There was a big question why would STM32F469VI have two corner dots but we've assumed text orientation should stay same and the smaller dot has matched.

Ideas?

From the datasheet http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/datasheet/2f/48/57/b4/79/f7/4f/65/DM00219980.pdf/files/DM00219980.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00219980.pdf Page 16:
Compatibility throughout the family
STM32F469xx devices are not compatible with other STM32F4xx devices.
Figure 1 and Figure 2 show incompatible board designs, respectively, for LQFP176 and
LQFP208 packages (highlighted pins).
The UFBGA176 and TFBGA216 ballouts are compatible with other STM32F4xx devices,
only few IO port pins are substituted, as shown in Figure 3 and Figure 4.
The LQFP100, LQFP144 and UFBGA169 packages are incompatible with other
STM32F4xx devices.

STM32F427VG is a bit less cool - only 256Kb - but should be a less traumatic experience.

PS:
Up to 2 MB of Flash memory organized into two banks allowing read-while-write
That would actually be useful for us - no more freeze while writing.

The below pins match, the 407. Also the below project seems to with with the same wiring of these pins.

Do you get 5V? Do you get 3.3V? Do you have continuity on the GND trace to however you are powering it? Are you sure you have pin 1 properly identified and that it's not 180 degree wrong? I believe it has proper orientation.

To me it looks like C14 (top right near STM32) might have a cold solder joint. However that's a generic bulk cap, so probably not a problem.

12) Some fab shops do not like soldering 0R 0805 on JUMPER footprint. Need to convert JP1, JP2, JP3 & JP4 to "SM0805_jumper"
13) as another approach to #12 problem, maybe we can add traces connecting JP1, JP2, JP3 & JP4 pads? On the back? By defult the trace would be used, if desired trace could be removed with a knife?
14) RESET and USER button HUGE silkscreen is needed
Assembled brain boards have arrived!
