This thread is used to announce MAJOR firmware changes which could affect all users. Please subscribe if you use rusEfi.

A typical example of an announcement would be incompatible configuration change - in such cases you one cannot simply flash latest firmware but some kind of special considerations would be needed.

Just made an incompatible configuration change - please load&save&migrate your settings via TS while updating to latest version. This was about https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/688

https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/776 is hopefully an improvement which makes I and D term scale of all PID settings to use the right time scale, so all I and D pid settings would need to be adjusted accordingly.

We have changed the way some corrections are treated under https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/773 - so while migrating to latest the scale of configuration has changed.

Bumping configuration version to 1.06 to highlight the fact of incompatible change.

https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/805 "calibrate TPS" feature is now (hopefully) working again with Tuner Studio. Please use latest project .ini file.

Incompatible configuration change - https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/commit/04bc1128dfb2d5cab3fdc7878298a939f5af4b1a

You would need to migrate configuration prior to 20190712 version migration: save settings in TunerStudio project & update mainController.ini file.

Idle air valve PID now has iTermMin/iTermMax settings, if you migrate to latest firmware you might need to manually set this value. min=-200 max=200 is a good starting point to have same behavior as previously. See https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/913

FSIO https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/922 incompatible change:

fan_on_setting is now cfg_fanOnTemperature
fan_off_setting is now cfg_fanOffTemperature

Please adjust your FSIO settings if you use these variables!

https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/796 is now fixed. This interesting defect mostly affects users with few tooth trigger wheels like Miata and similar Mitsubishi, mostly low RPM like cranking is affected - sometimes spark would not happen altogether. That's an important one unless you have a 36/1 or 60/2 trigger!

With https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/pull/1029 stepper pin modes are now used - so if you had non-default mode configured behavior would now change!

We've made incompatible changes to TS gauges - data logging speed could go up with smaller data packet, but you would need to create new project if you update to latest firmware.

Configuration part of the project was not changed, only the gauges.

https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/pull/1112 changes the way we handle TPS calibration, please re-calibrate your TPS.

We had a major defect since November 2019 - trigger sensors processing was inverted. This is now fixed https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1176 - please update to latest firmware and maybe you would have to un-invert your settings.

That's a good point for a new release - https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/releases

Going forward we should have a release every couple of months, with 6+ bundles attached to it.

Do you see that cute new icon on my profile? That's cool new community tools coming soon.

To get yourself the same icon you would need to to have your Engine Make and Engine Code fields filled in - those fields are available in the latest version of the firmware.

CRITICAL DEFECT NOT FIXED YET: https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1592

Depending on your tune and weather on Mars injector(s) could stay open during transitioning from cranking to running mode.

Current recommendation is to run the same fuel mode for cranking and running. For example, if running mode is sequential, run sequential for cranking too.

https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/pull/1636 changes Alpha-N mode in a incompatible way. I assume no one was using legacy Alpha-N hopefully :)

Our august release candidate is now available at the link below:
https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/releases/tag/20200803

We have had releases for a while but it seems people were not aware of them so this month is the first time we are trying to make a bit more of an announcement of it.

Hopefully in the future we will be both publicising this more and providing a bit more in the way of user focus on the releases, long term goal of this is to provide default builds for users with any known bugs and a better idea of stability before they dive in and update the firmware.

Not exactly rusEFI issue - but if you are using Lite edition of TunerStudio you better upgrade to latest 3.1.04 in light of https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1420 fix

All LS GM x24 trigger users: next release will have a breaking change https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/2054 you would have to substract 50 from "global trigger offset"
