I would ignore the Hardware: F4 message it could be broken https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/3973

please open case, please get unit into DFU mode with the hardware buttons if it seems not to respond

also latest snapsshot has relevant improvements please use https://rusefi.com/build_server/rusefi_bundle_proteus_f7.zip file

Attached is the log file with update to the latest daily build.

Result:
-> console doesn't crash anymore
-> no MSC devices (neither internal flash nor SD card)

I have not used the PROG button, there is everything purely via software.

I've tried to flash the old firmware version, snapshot_20211114_215906_proteus_f7_rusefi:

1. boot into bootloader (PROG button pressed during power on)
2. full erase (stm32-full-erase.bat)
3. flash the firmware (stm32-flash-dfu.bat)
4. reboot

Neither flash nor SD card in explorer. Device manager says:

grafik.png (5.2 KiB) Viewed 46178 times
Console connects the Proteus. but I get a warning:
grafik.png
grafik.png (6.07 KiB) Viewed 46178 times
Is that normal?

LED status:
-> green on
-> blue is flashing
-> yellow is on

"flash CRC failed" is expected for first boot after full erase

Behaviour before update:

after connect Proteus to PC I've got two drives in windows explorer:
-> one with rusefi_proteus_f7.ini on it
-> one with log files, my SD card installed in Proteus.
-> COM-Port for communication

After update:
-> no drives, neither SD card nor internal flash with rusefi_proteus_f7.ini
-> COM-Port for communication it there

Is the behaviour after update normal or is something wrong?

We turned off the "virtual USB drive" on F7 proteus to work around some other issues. You should still see the SD card.

Can you find your ECU in device manager with it set to "view by connection"?

Hint: you can select the com port, then change to "view by connection" mode, and it'll auto expand the view to show the device.

Right click "STMicroelectronics virtual COM port", uninstall, check the "delete driver" box, hit OK. Unplug ECU, replug ECU.

After upgrading to the latest daily build (snapshot_20220303_003810_proteus_f7_rusefi), things are looking good now, even in TunerStudio.

Thanks Matt and Andrey for the quick help, you guys are awesome!

New top level menu 'view' now shows a lot, a LOT of sweet data!

No documentation as always and still a lot to do but a huge step forward in terms of monitoring

rusEFI snapshot has an incompatible change to calibration format, please plan your bump to snapshot accordingly.

Release candidate https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/releases/tag/20220914_release contains important fix of https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/4557 which we probably have since end of June.

David has implemented Nightly for https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/releases

Open question to update documentation to explain what exactly does it mean :) https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi_documentation/issues/427
