microRusEfi connection to Tuner Studio

I did not find specific instructions to do this connection. I used these found on github or the forum but have problems: the connection is not stable it connects and reconnects over and over.
So some questions:
1) the mre can be connected through the micro USB port on the board
2) I have to install the 2 drivers from the bundle
3) I have to install only one - which one

If somebody can help....

Yes the USB on microRusEfi should absolutely connect to Tuner Studio and work reliably.

1) how is microRusEfi powered?
2) what OS do you have?
3) can you please try another microUsb cable?

If it works I would expect it to work reliably. I am not aware of a way to have a bad combination of drivers which would work unreliably.

1 power only through USB is that the problem?

1 power only through USB is NOT a problem as long as 48 pin connector is unplugged. At this point I really believe that a faulty cable is the most probable issue.

Connector unplugged
The cable problem might be true. I tried one from a phone I have no other micro USB device

The cable could be as simply as small gauge wire, or tin coated contacts vs gold plated contacts. Heavier gauge and gold contacts certainly help ensure a good connection.

I found an other cable. I test it and report.

Same problem with other cable. When I come back from work, I will reinstall all on an other computer.

What gauge wire in the cables? How long is the cable? Are the connections gold or silver color?

I had this same problem. I just re-flashed the board with the firmware in the bundle and it worked correctly.

To elaborate. the RusEfi Console connection was rock solid. But TS would disconnect once a second. I used the console to reflash using the firmware from the bundle and after a reboot of the board the TS connection was also solid.

Good points - how is rusEfi console connection? Does TS project match your firmware on the board?

I am back.
I think I will first reflash because the bundle changed this Sunday

The bundle sometimes changes five times a day. As long as your TS project matches your firmware you do not have to update to any latest bundle.

Made a clean install from the latest bundle. Installed the drivers with the console. Same result that before. Tomorrow I will look for a other cable.

Have you tried with rusEfi console? How is it working for you?

Is it time for a cellphone youtube video of both TS and console connect?

Console video is helpful. Can you please read firmware image from MRE and post binary here? I would like to reproduce

Is my problem not related with issue https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1170?

https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1170 could be related but the scope of https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1170 is unclear at this point.

Let's give up on reading image for now.

Please take a video of how you update firmware.

I will post an example of the image I was looking for.

How I have done installation :
Download and extract bundle micro rusefi f4
Download and install java
Launch the console with the. Jar file
Click on "drivers"
Click on "update firmware"

In reference with your last post I had different feedback from the information window during firmware update

Should I try a new update?

Best latest is currently building, should be ready in about an hour. I am trying to make it a bit smarter.

But current latest already has some improvements - can you please try it and post at least a picture of the DFU window?

A video is really worth ten thousand words and a picture is worth at least a thousand.

By the way I think it was https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1182

Some progress was made on https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues/1170

But so far I have not seen your DFU response exact text so I am just guessing. A picture or better video would _really_ help.

OK, I will try to make it when I am back home from work. My problem is the videos are too big for the forum if they are a bit long. On a tablet, it's no so easy to manage these things.

Back behind the pc.
With the new explanations I located a problem.
The "stm device in dfu mode" is faulty
Device manager says missing driver for stm32 bootloader. Automatic search does not work.

What version of Windows are you using?
Have you tried the "Install Drivers" button on the top right corner of rusEfi console?
