The firmware installed on the stm32 is from the na6 files. Then the jumpers make it compatible with the na8. Is this correct?
I’ve sat on this board for a while and I’m trying to dive back in. Hope this is the right place for this question.

You are correct. The firmware is the same, the jumpers are different. The tune will be different too to deal with the different engine size and some different I/O.

https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/wiki/Miata-NA-48-pin-board-for-MRE is about a different board but might be helpful - second and third pictures show same board set for 91 vs 94. Kind of show areas of change.
