Post by AndreyB »

A thread for random links where people have made some progress reverse engineering vehicle specific CAN messages

Let's start with https://aperturecontrols.com/canbus/subaru.html

https://github.com/TOSUN-Shanghai/TSMaster might be a pretty powerful tool with scripting as long as it works. Someone would have to read https://github.com/TOSUN-Shanghai/TSMaster/blob/main/manual/TSMaster_um_en.md :)
A powerful open environment for automotive bus monitoring, simulation, testing, diagnostics, calibration and so on. It supports all kinds of mainstream hardware such as TOSUN, Vector, PEAK, Kvaser, Intrepidcs, ZLG, CANable, CandleLight, cantact and so on. It is a permanent free software for all automotive engineers.

Besides CANoe, I quite like to use the software from ETAS (Bosch), BUSMASTER. It also works with my hardware (I'm using Vector CANcardXL) and also supports other interfaces (ETA, IXXAT, Kvaser, PEAK, ...).
