hybrid car electric power assisted for gas motor

Post by Abricos »

how hard it is at home to do hybrid car ??? sports hybrid car!!!
using spare parts from a junk yard from cars like toyota nissan chevrolet ...
how to manage ( control ) the motor driver ...

I work a little in this direction ...
in the video, I just test if working motor differential ...
I use 12 volts and the Chinese bldc controller ...

Those tabs looks like they are intended for direct AC motor control, instead of signal level controls. I recall some open source Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) efforts. I do not find much these days. I did find this reference.

I know ST has many 3 phase motor control chips. A key problem is finding driver chips which are sufficiently fast, can drive inductive loads, and can drive the amps you desire. The end result has been chips which are specifically tuned to your motor and custom. It would be great if one could find one large amps chip, then use it on smaller applications. However the motor voltage, and influence of leakage amps is a problem.

Are you direct driving the AC motors coils? As you gain in RPM, you will have many Back Electro Motor Forces to deal with commonly known as Back EMF. Do you know the amps you need for this motor?

Here is a generic link to ST's EV options.

I have wanted to make my own inverter generator. However time resource and motivation are in short supply.

it is not an asynchronous AC motor ( Say no to Ilon Mask ))))
this is BLDC motor (rotor made of permanent magnets) Image

the manufacturer says it rotates 16.000rpm max 650 V I do not remember how much amperes
but I remember that 50 KW
I plan to pump up to 100kw

Do you have a shaft angle sensor? You can do sensor or sensorless BLDC. Knowing your shaft angle helps with both efficiency and peak power.

ST has several nice BLDC options.
by leveraging the extensive STM32 development ecosystem with software tools, firmware libraries and middleware available on top of the popular motion-control algorithms such as Field-Oriented Control (FOC) and 6-step sensored / sensorless control to streamline firmware development.
http://www.st.com/en/motor-drivers/brushless-dc-motor-drivers.html?querycriteria=productId=SC2130

For 100kW at 650V you'll need at least 153A. At 16kRPM you'll want switching times around 0.3mS or faster. Do you have drive chips in mind? Once you know your switching times, you can start to make predictions about what RPM's are capable. I have not looked for a while, the last time I looked the key problem was finding the drive chips with sufficient amps and switching times.

I know of efforts where they use an OEM-ish front wheel drive, then add rear wheel drive with something similar to the below.

yes it have shaft angle sensor ( variable reluctance resolver decoder ) ...
sensorless in DIY its not 100% working options (in google) ...
in the video explains about the motor ... video from ( Weber State University in Ogden, Utah )

I looked at the cost of components (insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT)) in order to assemble or purchase DIY It is expensive and it is not clear with reliability ...
I purchased from the Toyota Prius 2014 inverter driver (in one box inside and driver and battery charger (or converter from battery i am not shur) high-voltage ...

It appears you have a different motor. How many watts / HP can this motor produce?

to make Toyota inverter 3rd generation (foto above) working it's need According to the documentation, it is necessary to give 6 wave signals (her is the problem) it's take long time to me to star it work and plus it's limited for tuning but still in the future I want to run it gen3 ...

A high power controller would generally need a battery, wiring, contactor, DC link, gate drivers, switches, an interface board, 3 current sensors, a heatsink and a motor.
