same stuff
PA11 and PA12 - directly to usb cable or to usb-serial adapter?
vcc to PA9 - what's that?

Re: STM32F407VET6 Mini Development Board System Board
I should've known NickZ would've been ahead of the game.
Looking at the VG Dev board SCH it says the USB is connected to PA12, PA11, but PA9 to VCC I don't know about. F-ken is PA9 to VBUS, so it must be a thing.
These things would make great baby Fsteins. Like make a shield the same size for 1-2 cyl small engines and bikes, and then another stack shield to add an extra 2-4 cyls for big bikes. Or put it solely on a Fstein - a Frankendevon -, and that would give it room to put a straight header system onboard for a direct adaptor PCB connection.
Even though direct programming is confusing to me, I might risk getting one.

Re: STM32F407VET6 Mini Development Board System Board
what's f-ken?
here's mine - looks a bit different?Re: STM32F407VET6 Mini Development Board System Board
The usb won't work without the PA9 to VCC, I think its to do with the bootloader looking for PA9 being high to enable Native USB through PA11 and PA12, even if you pull the power from PA9 the usb will disappear.
I have successfully run RusEFI on this board on the bench, But it was a stepping stone for my own development version of ECU board.
as far as i can see the Supplied USB socket doesn't do anything.
I used a ST-Link v2 to upload the firmware before being able to use the USB on pins PA11 and PA12.

Re: STM32F407VET6 Mini Development Board System Board
It's starting to get a bit clearer.
That's weird. Maybe it's because it doesn't have PA9
You'd know more about that than me, but I'll try it when the VG DEV gets here.
That's enough proof that it's worth looking at.
F-ken is my short for Frankenso.
My pic has better lighting so might look different, but to me it looks genuine. Same font and broken nub in the top right circle depression.
Re: STM32F407VET6 Mini Development Board System Board
late followup. I just started the recent rusefi image on this board! (used jlink to flash it, had to solder on a 3k pull-up to pa12). I was surprised to see a usb disk with probably useful stuff)
