Hi there !

Post by fluke9 »

Hi from Austria!

Car freak, have serveral cars with standalones (Megasquirt and VEMS).
Coder as profession for industrial highspeed machines.
Lots of microcontroller and embedded expierience. RTOS wise and else. Covered almost all architectures the last 20 years.
EE hobbyist which can spin boards and solder 0.4mm pitch stuff.

Mainly interested in the Code as i have done a lot of reverse engineering of Motronics in the last years,
i pretty much have my ME7.3.1 disassembled to the latest bit and understand most of it.
Active also on nefmoto and co.

As ME7.3.1 hybrids are all dying sooner or later because of a non repairable ETB driver failure i am currently looking in the ME7.1 and ME7.1.1 ecus as they are super cheap used. Millions of VAG cars scrapped gets you a very very decent HW.

The real reason why i am here is, that if you dont mind i would like to take your code and make it run on these ECUs.
So you can buy a 30€ ebay-standalone afterwards.

There are some major things in the way currently but i guess i will sort these out:
Lack of a free C167 compiler.
Disassembly of the secondary C167 CPU (50% done, its just used as an IO expander/watchdog).
Porting ChibiOS to the C167.

Regards,
Stephan

Hello and welcome!

rusEfi in OEM hw would be amazing! Please start a separate thread just not to have too much discussion of this in Hello World. Sounds like you know it would not be trivial but you have the skills.

My latest testmule is a 06 passat, i kind of can access a 2001 passat also.

I will be visiting Munich in a couple of weeks :)

I have 2 different cars with the 2.0T FSI's. Do you intend for direct injection? I'm not sure if the ME7's you mention have DI or not.

wow! what's the expected timeframe? will it take a year, or rather a decade? right time to get a cheap audi ecu from scrap-yard before they go up in price?
