Microrusefi rock solid and (luckily) idiot proof

Post by JPh »

I made a big mistake while making the last bench tests before trying to start the engine.
I was using the complete loom on the bench will all connected and, in the hurry, didn't notice one of my battery adaptator fall off. So I took the +connection for the - one and made what I was advised never to make : connect the battery in reverse voltage!

Happyly the board survived and I can continue the work on the engine.

In the car, this cannot happen because the + goes first to the main relay command circuit which is reverse voltage protected.
It's the may relay which powers the board, only if everything is correct.
But I was on the bench and the main relay assembly is part of the car, so I powered the bord manually.

So be careful when testing. Every error a humain can make will be made one day. I work on car since 40 years and it never happened to me till yesterday.
