Possible future hardware low side driver CJ950

Post by SHOf429 »

https://www.bosch-semiconductors.com/automotive-system-ics/engine-management-systems/cj950/

Stumbled across the CJ950 while on the trail of the CJ125... 18 channel integrated low side driver with up to 8 amps on two channels (lambda heater control). Serial control seems it would be a perfect fit for injector drivers among other things. Pair that up with a couple of CJ125's and you have dual wbo2 control.

Maybe useful... Maybe a pipe dream

On average Bosch chips do not have detailed 90 pages datasheets. With a 2 page product information sheet there is nothing we can do about those chips.

Indeed I noticed that. Does not bode well for anybody outside a large OEM. Perhaps they get enough revenue from their corporate customers they don't need our small change. If I can locate a proper data sheet, I will post it here.

Looks like Infineon TLE6244X is the same thing, possibly labeled as Bosch CJ950.

At the risk of redundancy, has this already been investigated?

I answered my own question with the search box.

The other problem we have seen with Bosch ICs is reliable supply. It is either dodgy Chinese supply or chips removed from OEM hardware.
Now keeping MRE in stock in the UK - https://www.FutureProofPerformance.com

yeah, I think they make you sign an NDA and prove you're a real manufacture to get the data sheet, and that's only if they have a business plan that include selling those particular chips vs keeping then for bosch products only. Somewhere I have the ref manual for the 7.2 (iirc) ECU they supplier to the vehicle manufactures, 1400+ pages of amazing detail....its a long obsolete product but still it was a friend of a friend and password protected pfd deal. They do 6 different checks for misfire each tooth, again iirc. They are in the euc business and work hard to protect that business. GM ecus were similar....we were looking at them as they had a 5565(?) but almost none of the other chips had any markings at all, all custom, all secret...the freescale guys told me even they had no idea what was in there as GM didn't buy any of that from them and had tried but could get input or outputs from any of them.
