1994 Mercedes V12 S 600 Stand Alone S600
Hi I have a 1994 Mercedes benz S 600 V12. I am looking to get a stand alone ECU to make it run, or build one? Also I need to get rid of the car in my drive way. Do I need anything else computers/wires before I scrap the vehicle? Also I want to put in individual throttles bodies.

Re: 1994 Mercedes V12 S 600 Stand Alone
what is your background? what is your end goal? why do you have this v12?
we have Proteus you would have to wire things or we have https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/wiki/Standalone-on-Demand
what is your plan for the transmission? where are you located?

Re: 1994 Mercedes V12 S 600 Stand Alone
I am an mech engineer. I would like to get the car running like stock no crazy mods. I am putting this V12 in a sand buggy gage. For transmission I heard Nissan 350z or Chrysler crossfire fits? I am located in Michigan. I seen you link I would not mind going that route but your min order is $1650. That a little. much for me. I can do $500 to get it running but north of that I can't see my self doing.

why not run OEM ecu just cut unneeded stuff? either way it would be a major wiring job unless you ship car to NJ for 4 months

Re: 1994 Mercedes V12 S 600 Stand Alone
I am trying to avoid the major wiring job. I also want to remove the electric throttle bodies and install individual throttle bodies to get the quick throttle response. I am thinking doing a stand along would be simpler, no?

Would I able to do the wiring? If there is a diagram I think I would be able to wire it up.

Only you can answer both questions. At some point I was trying to dig for M120 data and I got https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi_documentation/tree/master/OEM-Docs/Mercedes/M120
https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi_documentation/tree/master/OEM-Docs/Mercedes/M120 is all I know about your engine.

Oh wow that is a lot of information I will look thru it thank you
Re: 1994 Mercedes V12 S 600 Stand Alone
One day I'd like to get my hands on a Mercedes M120, maybe put it in an old F100 or something.
I know ITBs seem like a neat idea, but if you are putting this engine in a sand rail, it's probably a bad idea. It's really hard to put good filters on ITBs and that is something you really need on a sand rail. Also, if you are worried about being able to wire the engine, setting up and calibrating a standalone is going to be an even bigger challenge than you expect. If you are confident in your ability to wire it, it might be possible.
Just as a side note, the nissan transmission most certainly doesn't bolt up to an M120, and I'd be very surprised if the crossfire trans did.

Re: 1994 Mercedes V12 S 600 Stand Alone
crossfire is the same as the mercedes v6 manual trans cars. they share bellhousing pattern. As far as flywheel and clutch thats up to you to figure out.
are you doing a front engine sand rail? because otherwise I have no idea how you plan on getting power from the trans to the tires. you need a transaxle like audi fwd, porsche, etc..

Re: 1994 Mercedes V12 S 600 Stand Alone
You might want to look into something https://www.drivelife.co.nz/category/advice/projects/fz12-supercar/
Easiest way is to reuse the stock engine computers with manual TBs; I'm fairly sure your car is pre-antitheft so there isn't actually much going to the outside world on the ECMs. I'm not sure the changeover years for W140s, but it's pretty likely your stock setup is two ECMs triggered off twin crank sensors and a 3 tooth flexplate. Mechanically, it's not super hard to convert to 60-2. If you're trying to do this on a budget, but standalone, you could run each bank with wasted spark off one Proteus. Alternatively, if it's old enough, it might still have distributors, in which case you just fire the coils, and do some kind of semisequential to deal with the high injector count.
As far as transmissions go, if you want manual you're looking at custom work. I'm *fairly* sure M120 and M112/3 do not share bolt patterns (and thus a crossfire transmission is not a bolt in swap). Your transmission is most likely a 4spd non-electronic automatic, you could swap to a 5spd 722.6, but you'd most likely want a newer flex plate, and some kind of standalone transmission controller as well.

Hold on. Pictured A0215452032 with "12 cylinder" on it while some A 021 545 20 32 say "8 cylinder"
Looks like your engine harness could be very similar to https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/wiki/Mercedes-1997-S500 which is at least human readable.
