I have a peugeot 205 gti running the

60-2 flywheel,
ruse efi micro (purchased from simon (uk) a couple years ago)
single coil with 138083 ignitor fitted

I have got it started but it immediatley turns off after revving to 2000ish

I looked in the rusefi console and saw a "warning ignition coil fault" off message but I'm not sure if that is related.

trigger looks good, I pick up rpm etc and it seems like I ma be losing igntion for some reason

i have attacehd the log and current msq.

I have to insist on using rusEFI online for a more effective workflow on my end

done

https://rusefi.com/online/index.php?vehicleName=205+gti&user_id=734&sorts[uploadedMsq]=-1&sorts[uploadedLog]=-1

also see the highligted line, not sure why it is saying that and some times I get this error saying map zero. It still starts with both errors.

Engine revving uncontrollably seems like vacuum leak to me. Does this run in stock ECU?

Engine dying after crazy revving sounds like unhappy tune causing lean or rich?

MAP on the log does not show expected vacuum values?

Runs on the stock ECU quite easily.

I've tried hold the revs and adding fuel but it doesn't seem to respond to it.

I did make this base .msq from scratch and I'm wondering if that could be the issue?

The map sensor may be slightly out of calibration as I haven't finalised that as I couldn't find exact numbers but I agree the vacuum with the current reading does seem low.

My limited understanding that revving happens based on air amount. With properly limited air your engine would not rev regardless of fuel and/or spark.

If this runs on stock ECU that makes me wonder about idle air control. Maybe disconnect idle valve electric plug and compare behavior between stock ECU and rusEFI?

Well I would expect it to stumble and then run but it almost does the same thing every time.

Factory ECU runs and idle without the idle valve at around 1100 rpm ( I have a feeling it doesn't function perhaps but I'll function test it tomorrow).

I do agree for it to free rev like that there may be air being fed from somewhere.

Any idea about the errors in the console?

The WARNINGS are probably not the cause of free revving.

I'm not too concerned about the engine free revving up for the moment but I want to first try to keep it running or figure out why it won't.

Warning: If you have large ETB spring load position (20% in ls case) and ETB doesnt turn on for some reason, you will have this issue.
Shutting down is unrelated to that issue.

No ETB on this car. It is a fairly basic setup which is why it's baffling me a bit.

I'm going to rig up the wideband today and see what actually is happening with the fuelling.

I am going to investigate it today (still early morning here) hopeful I can figure it out. I'll warm it up with the stock ECU and go from there

What’s your timing like? The stock ecu probably idles at much less than MBT timing.

If the idle should be at 1100 there’s nothing you can do with fueling to get to 2700.

Fuel, air, spark. Air should be the same. Fuel doesn’t matter that much. That leaves timing.

The timing is 7 degrees on cranking and around 15-17 on the map.

I agree that the engine shouldn't be revving up without some kind of air source which has me a little stumped for the moment.

Mechanical timing "must" be fine as it runs on the stock ECU.

Is the idle valve connected to rusEFI? Can you block it off? Some idle valves are partly open when not driven, so as to allow the engine to idle when the wire is broken.

Idle is connected and I can confirm the rpm spiking was the idle valve, without it it gets to around 1100 as per the stock ecu.

It still shuts down, I have locked the timing to 10 degrees but its exactly the same every time, I can confirm the afrs get to 12/13 ish during cranking and the split second it runs.

I put a noid light and spark plug on one of the leads and I can see that spark and injectors are still firing as the engine is stalling.

I don't know if the error in console is something I should be focusing on?

looks like it was simply way too much fuel and it was just dying, I halved the ve table and then I also pulled the ASE right down to 1.4 and it fired up and idle happily.

I'll update how I get along and then also update rusefi online with the final dyno tune.

thanks for the help so far guys.
