Hey that's great news too!!
The last thing I would want are people combing junkyards to mutilate SVX ecu's. Stuff is hard enough to get as it is.

Also with the connector being available, it means it's fairly easy to make a PNP system.

Yes eBay but also https://octopart.com/search?q=178780

With the eBay guy I would ask him for "three for the price of two" kind of deal :)

Same guy used to have my favorite 64 pin connector - I believe he is a new old stock dealer. The price have started at $10 for qty 3 shipped but slowly tripped over the years until his stock has depleted.

Still need to order some more parts. But it lights up and I haven't lost any magic smoke.

More stuff and things happened today.

At some point maybe I could help with editing the instructions on software setup located in the wiki.
Currently they are a little confusing and some of the screenshots could use an update.

But they were good enough for me :)

I'm bored at work and currently playing around with TunerStudio and the discovery board.

Why do I get the error "Burn page 0 failed"? whenever I make a change and hit "Burn" in Tunerstudio.

known defect https://sourceforge.net/p/rusefi/tickets/330/ - relatively fresh issue, unfortunately it comes and goes while on a bench. I need to try fixing it one more time.

I'm not dead.
Hurt my knee last year and its slowed everything down.
I've converted the SVX to a manual transmission since I last posted here.
No more TCU to talk too.

Going through the process of updating and re-configuring the Frankenso ECU as it needed an update from its last firmware image( circa 2018).

A question.
The SVX has a separate igniter before the coils. Is there anything special I should do to prevent blowing the igniter and or coils up?

What kind of special are you thinking? So far I am not aware of anything special in similar circumstances.

Special in that SVX igniters are as easy to purchase as Rooster Teeth and I'm being overly cautious.

I think the igniter is just a block of transistors but I dont know if its inverted, open collector or something to that effect.
Its early still and I have not thought about this stuff in awhile.

I'm remembering reading something about people blowing the igniters with incorrect dwell settings.

I'll have to use the google machine and the OEM electrical manual.

Yup, default output settings should then work okay. And if you do blow up the unobtanium SVX ignitor, you can always splice in the ultra common Bosch ignitors.

Good point. Or go with a newer COP setup.

Did you notice https://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=35502#p35502 ?
I had not but just looked through your thread.
Pretty neat stuff. The talk of Mode B vs mode A2 is especially interesting and I wonder if that pertains to my board.

It may take me some time to get my older Frankenso kit going. That being said testing for a crank and cam pickup pattern is on my to do list for this week.

On EG33 version of my board I left MAX9924 for Crank #1 only. For Crank #2 and Cam VR I use NCV1124 (as they have common minus wire).
For Crank #1 I do not expect to see any issue with MAX. In case of watchdog issue I can still switch it to B mode.

SVX (3-input) trigger is implemented but not tested yet https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/blob/master/firmware/controllers/trigger/decoders/trigger_subaru.cpp#L119 .

Well I had some free time.

Now I still havent actually wired the harness for MAF, TPS, IAC, INJ, IGN, but I have wired in the Crank and Cam sensors.

I would think I would have seen some kind of trigger pattern in RUSEFI console and it said it was connected, flashed the MIL when tested (I wired that up) but no pattern on the Engine sniffer no sensor data from the default trigger pins. However looking at the board during cranking I could clearly see the crank and cam red leds flash on the board. Clearly the board is picking up a signal. So I'll do a little digging.

I only wired up one of the Crank sensors (what I consider the primary) and the cam sensor off the drivers side bank.

Here's a little video of the engine cranking over and the LED pattern. Reminder still no trigger input seen in RUSEFI console.
Shouldnt the Orange LED on the ST board flash with crank signal as well? I seem to remember reading that.

It looks like hardware senses the signals which is great news and the most challenging part!

Now you need to get into software. You need to be looking either at Engine Sniffer in rusEFI console or Composite Logger in TunerStudio. And please publish your tune at rusEFI online.

Since the harness is incomplete, pin assignment is also not complete for things I havent wired. That being said I have wired the crank and cam signals.
Not sure you'd want me uploading a tune until its complete unless you just want to see what I have setup so far.

I'm using RUSEFI console to check for trigger pattern in the Engine Sniffer tab and do things like test the Fuel Pump relay in the Bench Test tab... which works.

Just to be clear the Engine Sniffer within RUSEFI isnt showing trigger events. NO heartbeat there. Board disagrees.
I could post a screenshot of the Engine Sniffer but it would just be a blank graph. It does flash the different and correct pin assignments for cam/crank.

Your hardware seems to work. All the remaining answers are in your settings in my opinion. A video of the board running would not help troubleshoot your settings.

If you are looking for any help from here please upload your incomplete tune to rusEFI online.
