Audio output
Audio output
Any consideration towards using the audio amp on the Discovery board for feedback? Maybe some sound in concert with the check engine light or sensor input out of range? Kind of like some airbag modules that start beeping when the light bulb burns out.

Re: Audio output
Time is the most precious resource. This proposal is so out of line for so many reasons that for a few seconds I was considering pretty harsh actions in response to this proposal.

Re: Audio output
Unfortunately, this doesn't really seem like a particularly useful feature to include in an ECU.
If such a feature is desired, you could probably accomplish it using an external buzzer module and use https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/wiki/FSIO to trigger a pin under the specific conditions that you're interested in.
It doesn't really make sense to use the discovery/stm32 for this purpose because a) we don't really need quality audio output, just any output, and b) discovery is only used on frankenstein and frankenso, both of which are more development-focused boards compared with the more recent board designs over the past year or so.

Re: Audio output
Unfortunately I am failing to stay calm while I am being pulled into so many directions with my own ideas and user support and etc. No resources to handles ideas at this point - we have issue tracker https://github.com/rusefi/rusefi/issues full of know open issues. I guess maybe we have to officially state that we are closed for new ideas for the next 12 months?

Re: Audio output
Ok, while I can see what the OP is asking for and I can see some use for it.....
My initial reaction was a bit of a chuckle/snort.
At the risk of giving AndreyB a few more grey hairs, my brain is desperately wanting to start a whole new "features" thread.
Along with the audio output, dolby surround sound of course, I would like to propose the following:
1, 4k HDMI out with optional 3d support.
2, 5G support
3, A margarita mixer output, temp, constancy, alcohol content
4, 12 way power seat controller with memory, auto heating and cooling and multi vibrate mode
and, probably most importantly
5,a flux capacitor interface
But to the OP's origional question, i think this would be something best developed on a separate board, like the teensy3.2, and have it triggered to play any number of mp3 files based either the CEL output or by sniffing the CAN bus or serial.. It would actually be quite trivial given the number of example programe out there that do exactly that.

Re: Audio output
We already have aux temp input but flex fuel sensor is not yet supported https://rusefi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1324Joey120373 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 8:55 pm3, A margarita mixer output, temp, constancy, alcohol content

Re: Audio output
6, Advanced neural net interface with thought correction ( for those "do what i meant not what i thought i meant" moments )?
7, Dedicated " +500 hp " output pin, you know, the one that modulates the electrons on that magic magnet you installed on your fuel line?
8, Radar jam-er?
